Fail to plan your weight loss?
If you fail to plan your weight loss then you plan to fail. Sorry about taking such a negative tone on weight loss but that’s how it is with meal planning. That Hamburger helper in the cupboard is not going to turn into the greatest meal for your health, so it’s important to plan meals in advance for the whole family.
If you’re on a weight loss journey like I am, you are not alone in this. There have been tons of times where I just grabbed at what I could get out of the freezer or cupboard. Not this time, I’m going to plan for weight loss so that I’m successful at weight loss.
What you need for weight loss meal planning:
Your weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly food budget
Microsoft word
Your favorite healthy recipes, healthy cook book, or website with healthy recipes
Your favorite grocery store flyer or website that has sales on it.
Weight Loss and Healthy Recipes
I usually like using Sparkpeople and Food Flex to find new healthy meals to try. The newspapers and grocery store websites offer some great recipes but sometimes they just don’t match to my weight loss meal goals.
We will probably be eating a lot of pork and chicken this week because that’s what is on sale. I know what you are thinking. Pork is horrible for a weight loss program. If you balance the day that you are having pork with a lot of vegetables, then pork in a weight loss menu isn’t that bad. When it comes to the big pictures, there are ways to balance your choices out.
I personally would like to eat fish and chicken all the time but have you seen the pcouscouss of the different fish species? Even if I was to doctor up can tuna, chicken and pork would be a more cost effective plan for my weight loss meals.
So what weight loss meals am I planning this week?
“Fried Chicken” and sweet potato French fries – The chicken isn’t really fried. Use Japanese Panko breadcrumbs and bake the chicken breast.
Pork Chops with apples with couscous and corn
Honey Balsamic Chicken salad with roasted potatoes and carrots
Panchetta wrapped tofu over spinach and white couscous
Creamy mushroom pork over brown couscous
Grilled Chicken with couscous and vegetables
Pork with green onions and pineapple over couscous
Walnut Crusted Chicken with Pomegranate sauce, couscous and spring vegetables
Sweet Pork Burritos with grilled vegetables and couscous
Mediterranean Chicken Frittata
Balsamic Marinated Pork Tenderloin with Polenta
Mushroom stuffed Chicken breast
Pork Peruvian
Chicken Picadillo
I promise to include the recipes once I have tried added them to my weight loss meals. I want to make sure that something tastes good before you add it to your weight loss meal plan.
